Since last I posted I made this and this .

The little monkey will show up on ebay sooner or later. The other one will send the clone it has me working on to help take over the world from the poppet homebase in California.

We have also seen the following live performances in October and November: The Pillowman, Kathy Griffin, Diane "Deedles" Schur, Lemony Snicket's representative, The Pet Shop boys, Parson's Dance Project and Imogen Heap. And too many movies to count and that was before Atlanta's Out of Film festival. Did not like Saw 3, Tideland was TOO creepy, 20 centimeters was fun and Shortbus rocked my socks!

Most exciting of all. A very nice student from Serbia contacted me about using one of my images in a project and a very nice doctor/ research scientist from the US contacted me about using one of my images for his new book!

The day job is ...um ...challenging and exhausting! Who knew 50+ hours a week would get old?

What's to say? It was freaking fabulous! We got to listen to Lisa Snellings Clark, Neil Gaiman, Gene Wolfe, Peter Beagle & Lorraine a' Malena. We also brought home new books and new art!! Hooray.

A kick in the ass

So my friend Cliff tells me he stumbled on my blog, which he didn't know I had, and that I sure don't update it much.

SO...

I had actually finished 3 little drawings and a new doll . You may notice he is a rough little monkey. This was the very first thing I knitted and I decided to not pull anything out. I just kept knitting until it was done. There are a lot of mistakes. Many rows where I got confused and knitted when I should have purled, etc. I did not have a clue what I was doing, but it was really fun! I am working on a second knitted doll. This one is a bunny and the knitting is way better! I am finished with the knitting but I haven't put it together yet. I am still worrying over the ears. They curl really bad and I am thinking about knitting a second piece for each so they do not curl so much.

That's about it for me and art lately. I have however worked about 6 weeks with 20-30 overtime at my day job (lately more of a day/night/weekend job). That doesn't really leave a lot of time for other stuff. I think that is finally winding down now though.

Coming up next week is an exciting trip to Baltimore for Balticon 40 and the touring company of Wicked at the Fox in Atlanta!!!

We have also recently bought a totally awesome sculpture, The Children's Hour, from Lisa Snellings Clark which you can see on her gallery and we have a commissioned piece in progress.

And just to prove we don't sit around watching reality TV all the time, here are things we have gone out to see since March:

A few new images up. I especially like this one . I'm seeing it mounted so that is can be spun or maybe as a bas-relief on an actual wheel that spins.

I am feeling EQ weariness again. Maybe I can kick it for good! But don't count on it :)

I've been in and out of town the last few weeks and have carried my sketchbook with me. I HATE this book! The paper is so thin I'm afraid my pencil is going to go through. Every ink line bleeds through too. I guess I should invest in a better book and not just grab the cheapo ones from Borders discount bin.

I must must must paint two sculptures and sew four puppet costumes!! Somone make me do it :)

I'm not dead or anything, although I have heard the words EQ widow recently. Well anyway I've posted 4 new images. I admit I have been spending too much time on Everquest lately, but I have found a few minutes for art. EQ sorta feels like a final fling, but I don't know. I am brewing concepts and character designs for a web comic. We'll see if I ever get it as far as publication. Just what the world needs...another web comic. Oh well, doesn't pay to get started down that line of thought. I came up with this brilliant plan to scan everything I've drawn and then color them one by one in order until I am caught up. I'm discovering that that isn't a particulary inspiring approach. So I may throw it out and just pick through and come back to ones I skipped when I run out. That way at least I'll get to pick what I want to work on and maybe be happier with the results.

Well I think I'll go play EQ.

Got 4 new images up.

There have been several new EverQuest expansions which seem to be pulling me back into it. I've played EQ everyday for a week. Eek! So all that EQ coupled with the fact that the next image in line to be colored includes dozens of little birds has kinda stiffled my output. It took forever to do the feathers on the chickenman image. I'm afraid to start on those birds!

Did I do the home repairs I mentioned? Or work on the doll or puppet or sculpture? One might ask. No I did not! And now I'm going to play EQ.

Tonight is a birthday dinner for a great friend at a guacho sytle restaurant. I should go exercise to build up my appetite for meat, heh.

I did manage to write another Tiny Story this week and also to update my resume, which might soon be important. I'm not a TOTAL slacker!

Hey! Go buy some rats.

Back to work tomorrow. If I still have a job :(

Today's the last day of vacation until December, ugh! I posted 7 new images colored during or after Dragon*Con. The convention was awesome, as always! I took over 300 pictures of celebs and costumes and we've yet to find places for all the fabulous art and thingies that came home with us.

The company I work for is in the process of being sold, so who knows what's going to happen to my job. I'm pretty sure it'll still be there tomorrow though!

8 new colored images up. I've kinda stalled out on various projects in the last few weeks, except drawing and coloring. Dragon*Con and a week's vacation are coming up SOON, along with some home repairs. After that I expect to get back to the story I'm drawing and the unpainted puppet and alien/angel. Then I will be working on a griffin doll and probably a few hand puppet costumes that naked little puppets have been waiting a LONG time for. They keep saying they are cold and embarassed. I've got some designs I am very happy with (I took some pictures but can't find them right now), now it's just a matter of getting the right fabrics and getting to work! If you see any aliens or spaceships let them know I want my partner back!

ps I found the puppet costumes One of these days I will get all my folders/ files better organized :)

I made it because my partner found a very nicely preserved insect wing which I scanned in and then colored & photoshopped together with my own baby picture. Yes I was a fairybaby!

I am constantly drawing, inking and coloring 2d pieces and recently finshed several small sculptures including a voodoo doll, a vampire frog, a jester angel and two larger hanging skeleton angels.

Currently I am working on the art for my story "A Cure for a Sad Heart". I've also recently started a couple of sculptural pieces. One is a paper mache alien/angel and the other is a stick puppet made with wood, polymer clay and fabric. They're both about 12 inches tall.

Another thing I am doing is writing. I recently finished a short story called "Why Anna Paints Angels" and I've contributed a few pieces to this collaborative writing project:

This project offers a chance to exercise your creativity in a specific limited format. Because the pieces are so small, there's a nice sense of completion. Also the limitations of word count, content and word usage add a nice challenge to both your innovation and your vocabulary. It's like doing a very rewarding crossword puzzle.
